Why are they called drones and not "floater cameras" like in the 1984 movie Runaway?

I added two new feeds to my RSS list today ... both times I had to search through the page source because there was no visible link.

Please show your site has an RSS feed.

🙏

Ethan got off to the first day back at school without any slip-ups. I’ve got a slow cooker going with bolognese for later. Pickles has been walked. Now, time to walk upstairs to work for the day.

Impromptu day-before-my-40th-birthday bbq.

Steak, chicken, sausages, salmon, burgers, kebabs.

Time to clean the ol’ Weber.

Bank Holiday Monday - lazily filing and responding to issues in my clients design systems component library repo.

Took Pickles for a walk along the beach at Hengistbury Head (near Bournemouth) this morning.

Fireworks going off outside (bank holiday music in the cathedral grounds). Pickles is unfazed.

A colleague made continuous integration work and today the 0.1.0 version of my clients new component library breathed its first breath on the internet.

Parts are still moving about so we”re going with a weekly release schedule for the moment.

Now for a 0.2.0(?) … “release the docs!”

We’re hiring in my org (new product at Amazon).

1) Manager for the UX team of designers and researchers (ideally in Seattle but SF ok). Will travel between the 2 every week.
2) Frontend developers for the engineering team to focus on core components.

Email me if you wanna chat.

I sent out the latest issue of a newsletter I curate on earlier today.

Archetype – archetypeapp.com/

This looks like a pretty neat filler for helping you figure out your projects typography choices, scales, etc (in lieu of Typecast shutting its doors)

(note it's only supporting Google Fonts (Gonts(?)) right now unless you have the local font files to upload).

A 'non-work' day today as I'm here with Ethan and it's the school holidays. He's watching The Last Jedi (again) so I've spent a couple of minutes trying investigating ways to show 'case studies' on my (forever needing a redesign) site.

Kinda like how writing-mode, and text-orientation is here, not sure if those 'screenshots' need a browser or something to be less of a 'hodge-podge' of images though.

Forever a work in progress -- at some point I might have somethign to actully push live.
